Trying my hand at dehydrating
August 11, 2017One of our go-to diet staples is beef jerky but its SO expensive in the stores. That's when I remembered I had an unopened box in the basement containing a dehydrator and thought I'd try making my own. I purchased high quality beef and a jerky gun and went to town. The process was very easy- my only complaint is the seasoning that came with the gun is way too salty. I will be searching for a recipe for cure and seasoning for next time.
I had an extra tray and tried zucchini chips – seeing how we have an abundance of zucchinis in our garden right now. They were ok. I will also have to research seasoning for the top.
