New Year-New Me!

I have been over weight ever since I can remember. My earliest recollection of knowing I was indeed different from other kids was in the 5th grade; I wanted to be a cheerleader but they didn't have an outfit big enough to fit me. I was very embarrassed at the time and it still haunts me to this day. I also remember joining Weight Watchers at the age of 13. The program leader proclaimed how I was the youngest member she ever had at a meeting but I didn't think that was something to celebrate. I also joined Weight Watchers again at the ages of 19, 26, 30 and 34! I lost a few pounds each time but gained it all back once I quit the program. This was usually due to frustration and lack of money. I received the same results on the Slim Fast, Atkins, Keto, NutriSystem and The 4-Hour Body diets. On each diet I start very strong and committed and then life happens and I can't stick with them, leaving me feel drained, unmotivated and depressed.

I'm committing myself to a NO sugar, lower carbohydrates and a higher protein diet. I know my biggest struggle will be avoiding sugar, but I know from experience that if I can stick it out for two weeks the carvings will then disappear and it will become easier. Within those first two weeks I also know from experience that I will have headaches, fatigue and mood swings because I'm ridding my body of the beloved sugar it loves so well. This is where essential oils will play a big role in helping me get through this little, but tall, hurdle.

I'm also committing to drinking a gallon of water a day. I have done this is the past and its not as hard as it seems; as long as there is a bathroom near by! Taking my vitamins is also going to be part of my daily routine, as is using doTerra's Slim & Sassy® several times a day in my water. doTerra's Trim Shake® will also be part of my daily routine and this will help with consuming adequate protein in my diet. Eating protein always fills me up but who wants to eat just a chicken breast when its much better in a sandwich or with a side? Having a shake eliminates the temptation of extra calories and I'm left feeling full and satisfied.

Something new I'm trying, and very excited about, is doTerra Zendocrine® Detoxification. I have always wanted to try a cleanse but never found one that I liked or trusted. In my opinion, not eating for countless days doesn't seem healthy approach; I was excited to learn about doTerra's more natural approach to detoxification.

My exercise goals are continuing to work with a cross-fit trainer once a week and then committing to three additional days on my own. I have taken the first step of buying TRX bands, kettlebells and I have dusted off the tread mill! I can do this!!

Now that I have children I want to be healthy more than ever! I want to know once and for all what it feels like to be skinny! This new attempt to reach my weight loss goals with doTerra feels different than the others in the past. I feel this is a lifestyle change that I can live with because it feels natural and I don't have to eat a pound of bacon or a bread-less sandwich. This is something I can do and stick with it!! I'm a newbie at living a more natural lifestyle with essential oils and I can't wait to explore all the benefits and rewards that are in store of me. It still amazes me how one drop of Slim & Sassy® make me feel rejuvenated and how a drop of orange can brighten my mood and leave me feeling empowered. 

My new journey to healthy started on January 1st, 2018 and I hope you can join me on this exciting new path to finally becoming the person I always dreamed of being- SKINNY!
